Director, Engineering - Cloud Observability

Datadog's Cloud Observability group is core to Infrastructure Monitoring, handling integration with major hyperscalers and generating 10M+ metric points per second. The Director will own engineering for all clouds, manage ~40 engineers through Engineering Managers, shape roadmap, drive AI adoption, and build talent in NYC, Boston, and Paris.

• Own engineering for all of Cloud Observability
• Manage ~40 engineers through a layer of Engineering Managers; this is a manager-of-managers role
• Shape the roadmap alongside product leadership
• Drive AI adoption across the engineering org
• Navigate cross-team dependencies
• Build and retain engineering talent in NYC, Boston, and Paris

• Directly managed Engineering Managers
• Deep experience with one or more cloud providers
• Solid understanding of cloud economics
• Integrate AI deeply into leadership and team practices
• Track record of shaping product decisions
• Experience with large-scale, event-driven or data-intensive backend systems
• Based in New York, Boston, or Paris

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is $296,000—$370,000 USD.
