About the Role
Smartsheet is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Dashboards team, which builds data visualization experiences that turn raw information into executive-ready insight. You will lead and grow a team of engineers across all experience levels, coach them to deliver high-quality features, own roadmap creation and execution, and partner with Product and cross-functional stakeholders. You will help shape how the team builds AI-enabled features on modern data platforms like Databricks. This is a remote-eligible position within the US.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineers across all experience levels, building a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Own roadmap creation and prioritization for the Dashboards team in partnership with Product and Design.
- Drive successful, predictable delivery of projects from scoping through launch, balancing quality, speed, and technical debt.
- Build and evolve team structure, process, and ways of working (e.g., planning cadence, on-call, sprint/Scrumban).
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to define and execute strategy for AI-powered dashboard and analytics features, including work on Databricks.
- Interview, hire, and onboard engineers; coach, mentor, and develop direct reports.
- Communicate roadmap, delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs to engineering and business leadership.
Qualifications
- 2-3+ years of experience managing medium to large engineering teams.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, roadmap creation, and team/process building.
- Experience building and shipping AI-powered product features.
- Experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms.
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical work into business impact.
- Experience coaching and developing engineers from early-career to senior/principal.
Compensation & Benefits
US Base Salary Range: $175,000—$245,000 USD, plus market competitive incentive opportunity.
