Role
The EMEA Events Manager will independently own and deliver Grafana's regional events across EMEA and eventually APJ, including owned conferences and third-party sponsorships. This is a hands-on role requiring end-to-end event management.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of in-person events, including owned regional user conferences and third-party sponsorships.
- Lead end-to-end event logistics: venue sourcing, negotiating, contracting, vendor coordination, booth design, on-site execution.
- Own event project management, budgets, timelines, contracts, and vendor communications.
- Define and track success metrics, deliver post-event analysis, and implement improvements.
- Create and approve event assets (signage, collateral, presentations, registration experiences).
- Leverage AI and automation tools to improve planning efficiency and reporting.
- Identify risks early and resolve issues proactively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product, and regional teams.
- Provide guidance to junior team members, contractors, and agency partners.
Qualifications
- Located in the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, or Germany.
- 4+ years of direct event management experience, including hosted conferences and third-party sponsorships.
- Demonstrated ownership of the full event lifecycle: venue sourcing, contracting, budget ownership, vendor management, registration build, on-site delivery, post-event analysis.
- Experience as the primary on-site lead for in-person events.
- Willingness to travel by plane approximately 40%, including long-haul to APJ.
- Curiosity and adaptability in adopting new marketing technologies, including AI-driven tools such as Claude Code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent events with competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in Zuddl or similar registration platforms and familiarity with Salesforce and Monday.com preferred.
Compensation
In Germany, OTE (On-Target Earnings) range is EUR 83,000 - EUR 100,000. Compensation ranges are country specific.
