As a Fraud Operations Associate, you will manage daily workflows related to transaction fraud, first-party fraud, and account takeovers, and work to improve the business's ability to scale and make risk-based decisions. You will be the company expert in fraud operations, drive down losses, and improve internal efficiencies by contributing to the evolution of AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Own and work associate level queues assigned to the Fraud Operations team
- Develop and implement scalable operational processes for fraud management
- Make risk-based decisions on high-value/risk transactions and account offboardings
- Achieve company-level goals around financial fraud losses
- Respond to cross-functional partners on escalations, handle fraud incidents, and conduct root cause analysis
- Own and ship projects on the Fraud Ops roadmap, using AI tools to enhance queues and projects
- Partner with Policy, Data Science, and Engineering to improve tooling for fraud operations
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in fraud, risk, or related operations
- 1+ year of experience leading projects or workstreams end to end
- Demonstrated ability to use data to investigate issues, spot trends, and support decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate and work with a team on projects and process improvements
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with SQL or other data query tools
- People management or team lead experience
- Experience using AI tools to improve operational workflows
- Experience in fintech, payments, or banking industries
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $86,784-$108,480 USD. Starting base pay depends on factors including location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
Work Location
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. Brex is a hybrid environment requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday). Up to four weeks per year of fully remote work is available as a perk.
