About the Team

The Billing Engineering team builds the billing platform behind ClickHouse Cloud. The team works on mission-critical flows with direct business impact, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure reliability, scalability, privacy, security, observability, accuracy, and compliance.

What You Will Do

  • Build ClickHouse Cloud's billing and metering platform.
  • Design and build mission-critical processes that keep the lights on.
  • Deliver secure, efficient, mature, and highly available frameworks that abstract infrastructure complexity.
  • Partner with multi-disciplinary teams to define business strategies, user needs, and optimal solutions.
  • Integrate with various systems (Billing, Metering, Logging, Monitoring, Support, etc.).

About You

  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience building front-end systems on the cloud.
  • Hands-on experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple engineers.
  • Technologies: TypeScript, Serverless, EKS, SQS, Mongo, Node.js, React (proficiency in multiple languages preferred).
  • Experience with billing concepts: credit card processing, usage-based billing, metering, CSP marketplaces (AWS, GCP, Azure), invoicing, sales tax, auditing, record-keeping.
  • Strong ownership and experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems across the full software life cycle.
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their IaaS offerings.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within and across engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and partner with the business.

Compensation

Typical starting salary for this role in the US: $141,000–$208,000 USD. For US Premium Markets (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area, NYC Metro): $157,000–$230,000 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.
