Hardware Engineer (Metal Classic)

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you will optimize server infrastructure at scale, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver reliable hardware solutions.

• Serve as senior point of contact for hardware escalations and troubleshooting, driving root-cause analysis.
• Operate, maintain, and optimize server hardware infrastructure, including deep troubleshooting of hardware and firmware failures.
• Develop and maintain hardware/firmware management services for reliability at scale.
• Automate the server hardware lifecycle from provisioning to decommissioning.
• Collaborate to define hardware requirements, specifications, and system architecture.
• Create and maintain documentation of hardware designs, specifications, and test procedures.
• Analyze and optimize hardware system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements.
• Establish processes for internal hardware testing, deployment, and performance optimization.

• Proficient in Ansible and Python, with experience programmatically interacting with server BMCs using IPMI or Redfish.
• Deep understanding of server hardware, components, and management technologies.
• Ability to stay current with industry technologies and trends in server and data center hardware.
• Experience collaborating with hardware vendors to evaluate, qualify, and deploy solutions.
• Strong passion for automation and commitment to comprehensive, reliable automation.
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.

The base salary range for this role is $109,000 to $204,000. Total rewards include discretionary bonus, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits (based on eligibility).
