Incident Response Manager - Privacy

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Incident Response Manager to own and evolve incident management within the privacy team. This senior-level role on the Technical Program Manager ladder focuses on detecting, responding to, and learning from privacy incidents involving personal data subject to GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and similar laws, as well as contractual commitments to customers. The role involves maturing and scaling the incident response lifecycle from detection and triage through containment, remediation, and post-incident review, with a strong emphasis on driving systemic improvements based on incident trends.

• Own the end-to-end privacy incident management program: detection workflows, response processes, escalation paths, communication standards, and remediation tracking.
• Serve as incident commander for privacy incidents, coordinating across executive, engineering, security, legal, and other stakeholders.
• Establish and run incident commander rotations within privacy.
• Drive post-incident accountability by defining how action items are captured, assigned, tracked, and completed.
• Gather, analyze, and report on incident trends to surface systemic risks and root causes.
• Translate trend analysis into cross-functional initiatives with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams.
• Lead incident review forums (post-mortems, retrospectives) and ensure learnings are acted upon.
• Partner with Privacy Legal on breach and notifiability assessments and coordinate communications.
• Develop and maintain privacy incident response documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and training materials.
• Partner with detection engineering to improve alert fidelity and reduce noise.
• Define, develop, and track incident management KPIs.
• Support cross-functional training and initiatives to uplevel privacy awareness.

• Led or built incident response programs at a technology company, ideally in a high-growth or security-intensive environment.
• Track record of turning incident data into organizational improvements.
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and leading incident response during high-severity events, including off-hours.
• Experience building and scaling operational processes from the ground up.
• Ability to drive accountability across teams without direct authority.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in incident trend analysis and metrics reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, especially under pressure and with executive leadership.

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management, incident management, or security/privacy operations.
• Familiarity with privacy regulation and breach-notification obligations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA or similar).
