About the job

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an exceptional Legal Program Manager to serve as the operational backbone of contracting for the Compute and Infrastructure team. This role manages a high volume of procurement and vendor agreements—including datacenter colocation, lease, and build-to-suit agreements; hardware, chip, and network-equipment procurement; and construction, facilities, and O&M contracts—along with supporting NDAs, order forms, SOWs, and amendments. The role builds scalable contracting processes (templates, playbooks, intake/approval workflows, contract lifecycle management) and owns the system, throughput, and visibility that move agreements from intake through signature.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and shepherd high-volume compute and infrastructure procurement transactions from intake through signature.
  • Own and administer the contract lifecycle management system: workflow design, templates, approval routing, signing, archive, and integrity hygiene.
  • Design and run intake and triage processes.
  • Propose and develop scalable solutions to improve contracting efficiency and throughput.
  • Collaborate with business units and legal team members to streamline contract management, manage post-signature obligations and renewals, and identify risks.
  • Partner with Compute & Infrastructure, Product, Finance, Security, Business Operations, and Procurement Ops teams.
  • Build reporting, dashboards, SLAs, and metrics to surface turnaround times and bottlenecks.
  • Deploy LLM and AI tooling to scale contracting throughput and reduce manual handling.

Minimum qualifications

  • Experience operating in a fast-paced technology startup with shifting priorities.
  • Initiative and autonomy in managing complex contractual matters.
  • Understanding of contract context, mission, and enough contract fluency to triage and route requests.
  • Excitement to grow and shape the culture of the commercial function.
  • Preference for straightforward, concise explanations.
  • Knack for identifying and implementing efficient processes and policies.
  • Ability to thrive in cross-functional teams building frontier technologies.
  • Comfort operating outside areas of expertise and in uncharted legal territory.
  • Hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management or legal-operations tooling, process design, and working from data, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Comfort using AI and LLM tools to streamline and scale routine contracting work.

Preferred qualifications

  • 10+ years in contract management, legal operations, or procurement operations, including hands-on experience implementing or administering a CLM platform.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, datacenter, hardware, construction, or telecom/network procurement and vendor contracting.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across various organizational levels and functions.
  • Working familiarity with datacenter, colocation, lease agreements, hardware/equipment procurement, construction/facilities/O&M contracts, network/telecom agreements, and high-volume template-driven vendor contracting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated self-starter able to multitask and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Authentic integrity and deep understanding of ethics in business.
  • Experience implementing or administering a CLM platform (Ironclad) and standing up reporting and metrics.
