Manager, Field Engineering - MFG

Databricks is hiring a Manager, Field Engineering for the Manufacturing (MFG) segment. This role leads a team of Solutions Architects (SAs) in the Central US, focusing on pre-sales for enterprise software, big data/analytics, data engineering, data science, and AI. The manager will partner with Sales and other Field Engineering segments to drive revenue and customer success.

• Hire, train, grow, and manage a team of Solutions Architects.
• Maintain a robust hiring pipeline and establish cross-functional relationships.
• Partner with sales leadership to hit sales and consumption targets.
• Keep the team ahead of the technical curve in the data+AI stack.
• Lead best practices for technical qualification, proof of concepts, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Influence and review complex architectures to guide teams and customers toward scalable solutions.

• 3+ years of experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams.
• 7+ years of experience in the Data + AI space with a technical product (e.g., data warehousing, big data, data science, machine learning, or AI).
• Deep technical understanding of Data + AI impact across industry segments.
• Technical competence to earn trust of engineering talent and leadership.
• Experience hiring, ramping, promoting, and addressing performance issues in pre-sales professionals.
• Experience working with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

Zone 2 Pay Range: $172,500—$237,150 USD. Total compensation may include annual performance bonus and equity. Databricks offers comprehensive benefits and perks; details vary by region.
