The Documentation team creates engaging and informative technical content, particularly public product documentation. This role is for a Documentation Manager to lead a growing documentation team, managing 3-5 technical writer direct reports, partnering with Product and Engineering teams, and researching technical details. The role is remote in North America.
What You'll Do
- Manage 3-5 technical writer direct reports, overseeing day-to-day, content project plans, and growth.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to create and maintain public documentation for users, developers, and SREs.
- Experiment with the product, dig into source code, and interview subject matter experts.
- Collaborate with the contributor community to improve documentation standards.
Who You Are
- 5-10 years experience researching and developing documentation for technical topics.
- 2-5 years experience managing a small team of technical writers.
- Publicly available technical writing samples.
- Comfortable reading at least two programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Go, bash).
- Experience with documentation as code, Git/GitHub, CI/CD tooling, and modern infrastructure.
