Manager, Software Engineering, Fullstack (Repayment UX Engineering)

Affirm is a financial technology company that provides transparent, predictable payment solutions. The Repayment UX team owns the customer repayment experience across Affirm's mobile and web apps, serving over 20 million users who repay over $40B in loans annually. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow the Repayment UX team, which is based entirely in Europe. You will set technical direction, own the roadmap, delivery, and on-call support, and partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams.

• Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers, setting clear expectations and providing direct feedback.
• Own the team's technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap.
• Empower tech leads and engineers to maintain design and quality standards.
• Own availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems, including on-call and incident response.
• Keep the team shipping in small increments, breaking large programs into sprint-sized milestones.
• Partner across Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams.
• Guide the team to multiply output through focus and leverage, including agentic AI.
• Drive hiring and onboarding to grow a diverse, high-performing team.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing and growing engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering consumer-facing software and driving execution through ambiguity.
• Track record of managing performance directly.
• Technical judgment to guide architecture, quality, and reliability decisions.
• Experience leading significant technical initiatives end-to-end, ideally decoupling or re-platforming consumer-facing systems.
• Familiarity with modern full-stack development, including declarative UI frameworks like React or React Native and a backend-for-frontend.
• Calm, decisive presence through change and ambiguity.
• Humble, team-first leader who builds a high-trust, psychologically safe culture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Base pay range: €103,000 - €139,000 per year. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
