Principal Engineer, Authentication

Databricks is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Authentication space within the Trust & Safety organization. This role involves crafting and executing a long-term vision for Authentication that balances security with user experience, recruiting and mentoring engineering talent, and representing Security Engineering across the organization.

• Craft and execute a long-term north-star vision for Authentication that balances uncompromised security with a frictionless user experience.
• Recruit and mentor top-tier engineering talent to scale our security infrastructure.
• Act as the voice of Security Engineering across the organization, driving data-driven decisions at the executive level.

• 10+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas and expertise in two or more of the following: Authentication, Network, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
• 15+ years of experience building large scale distributed systems with high availability.
• Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
• Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders across the company.
• Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.

Local Pay Range: $280,000—$385,000 USD. The total compensation package may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits. Databricks offers comprehensive benefits and perks; specific details vary by region.
