Role

As the Principal Product Manager for ClickHouse Cloud, you will lead the development and delivery of the product, working closely with engineering, customers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product roadmap for ClickHouse Cloud, focusing on cloud-native database capabilities such as multi-region replication, distributed query execution, fault tolerance, storage tiering, and schema evolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering to prioritize and deliver improvements to the core database engine, storage layer, and query optimizer.
  • Engage directly with customers to gather insights and guide product decisions.
  • Work with design, marketing, operations, and sales teams to support feature launches and shape product positioning.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure product success.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for product-related communications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of product management experience with a strong background in cloud-based SaaS products.
  • Deep familiarity with database systems, distributed systems, or real-time analytics platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and understanding of query execution, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with databases such as ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or other columnar databases.
  • Understanding of modern data infrastructure: data lakes, ETL pipelines, CDC, and data orchestration frameworks.
  • Ability to work with engineering on low-level technical topics such as schema management, query planning, and storage engines.
  • Experience designing features such as database replication, consistency models, and backup/restore workflows.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working and scaling open source technologies.
  • Prior experience at a startup.

Compensation

The typical starting salary for this role in the US is $169,000—$225,000 USD. In premium markets (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area), the range is $188,000—$250,000 USD.
