About the job

About Anthropic

Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The team is a quickly growing group of researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the role

Anthropic's New Markets and Monetization team exists to bring transformational AI to every business. The work falls into two pillars: Verticals (identifying and building for the next API markets) and Monetization (the commercial machinery that lets the platform do business anywhere, with anyone). Anthropic is hiring founding product managers onto this team; this posting covers all of them, and the candidate will own one of the areas below outright, working day to day with a dedicated engineering lead and designer, measured on company-level goals for the half.

Areas include: partner and platform billing (metering, attributing, and billing usage that reaches Claude through a partner, reseller, or another platform, plus program terms); spend observability and controls (giving enterprise buyers a precise view of spend with enforceable limits and controls, including programmatically); one account and the startup path built on it (one login and one wallet across the API and Claude's subscriptions); and a vertical (platform strategy for a particular industry).

Regardless of focus, the PM will: build on primitives owned by the Billing Platform and Auth & Identity teams and ship with Growth, Go-to-Market and Startups, Legal, Finance, and Data Science; structure commercial terms (pricing, revenue attribution, partner and startup program terms) with Finance, Legal, and Business Development; talk to every side of the ecosystem and turn it into a roadmap; own the team's outcome metrics and ensure the instrumentation exists to know whether what was shipped moved them; and write the strategy, specs, and analysis themselves.

Minimum qualifications

  • Owned a developer platform, API, billing or money-movement product, or self-serve growth product end to end, accountable for its revenue or activation number (for most people, five or more years as a PM)
  • Built with or shipped on top of large language models, with a view on what changes about billing, identity, or distribution when the customer is sometimes an agent
  • Technically fluent: reads API docs, works through billing, identity, or attribution design with engineers, and makes calls on platform primitives
  • Pulls their own data with SQL or equivalent to define a metric, build a funnel, or size a market
  • Negotiated pricing, revenue share, or program terms with Finance, Legal, or Business Development counterparts
  • Writes clearly enough that an engineer, an executive, and an external partner can each see the tradeoff
  • Cares about Anthropic's mission and growing the platform in a way where builders share in the upside

Preferred qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience
  • Worked on metering, usage attribution, reseller or cloud-marketplace channels, or enterprise spend management
  • Taken a developer platform into a new industry, or built product in healthcare, life sciences, financial services, or another regulated industry
  • Grown a developer product's self-serve or startup business, including its pricing and packaging
  • Built account, identity, or subscription systems spanning more than one product
  • Taken a product from zero to one, where the users, the product, and the economics all had to be worked out at once

Compensation

Annual Salary: $305,000—$385,000 USD.

Logistics

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Required field of study: a field relevant to the role. Location-based hybrid policy: all staff are expected to be in one of Anthropic's offices at least 25% of the time. Visa sponsorship is available; Anthropic retains an immigration lawyer to help.
