About the job

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry, and the Retail Partnerships team sits at the heart of growing the grocery ecosystem. As a Retail Partner Lead, you will own relationships end-to-end, acting as the primary strategic contact for retail partners. You will translate partner goals into real outcomes on the platform, mobilize internal resources across product, operations, marketing, and analytics, and drive execution with urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of retail partners with clear end-to-end ownership and measurable long-term success.
  • Identify growth opportunities, diagnose gaps, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Translate platform data and partner performance metrics into compelling strategic narratives for retailer leadership up to CEO and Owner level.
  • Execute partnership plans with ownership and urgency across multiple workstreams.
  • Develop deep platform fluency across Instacart's capabilities and growth levers.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • 5+ years in partnerships, account management, business development, or related client-facing commercial role.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder relationships at senior level (Director, VP, C-suite).
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work directly in data.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable outcomes: revenue growth, product adoption, or operational improvements.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams without direct management authority.

Preferred

  • Experience in e-commerce, grocery, retail, or marketplace platforms.
  • Ability to build and present executive-level business reviews.
  • Comfort in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product and engineering.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range: CAN$135,000—$142,500 CAD. Eligible for new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.

Location

Remote in Canada, only in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
