Sales Engineer, Mid Market - Public Sector

As a Sales Engineer supporting our Public Sector customer base (City/County/State/Public Schools, excluding Federal), you will help modernize essential industries through IoT solutions. This is a remote position open to candidates in the US except the San Francisco Bay, NYC, and Washington, D.C. metro areas. All candidates must be US citizens.

• Become an expert on Samsara products, including IoT, AI, and computer vision capabilities.
• Articulate how businesses use Samsara to solve industry challenges.
• Deliver discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof of concept implementations.
• Write scripts against our open API to solve real-world problems and document them for fellow SEs.
• Act as a liaison between product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.

• Bachelor’s of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university.
• 2+ years experience in pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience managing hardware/software product evaluations and basic understanding of electronics.
• Knowledge of technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation and control systems.
• Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with task automation scripting using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent.
• Experience building solutions with open APIs and working with Public Sector customers.
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO) and hobbyist electronics.

Annual OTE salary range: $112,700—$144,900 USD. Total rewards include base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, equity (for eligible roles), comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and a professional development stipend.
