Role
Senior Accountant, Debt Accounting, based in Dallas, TX. Own the monthly and quarterly debt accounting close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and debt issuance-cost tracking, and support debt rollforward and footnote disclosures for external financial reporting. Partner with the Debt Accounting Manager, Treasury, Technical Accounting, and external auditors to ensure accurate recording and compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries related to debt facilities
- Record cash receipts and payments related to debt activity and track/accrue debt issuance costs
- Prepare monthly debt and cash account reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly debt rollforward schedule and draft footnote disclosures
- Maintain documentation for key debt-related SOX controls and complete control testing evidence packages
- Respond to internal and external auditor requests
- Prepare monthly journal entries related to derivatives and hedging programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of general accounting experience; debt, treasury, or corporate accounting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of US GAAP as it relates to debt accounting
- Strong reconciliation and account analysis skills
- Experience supporting SOX control documentation and testing
- NetSuite (or similar ERP) experience preferred
Compensation
Base salary range: $98,000 - $130,000. Total rewards include discretionary bonus, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits.
