About the Ads Data Science Team
The Ads Data Science team leverages data to maximize advertiser value through robust data foundations, metrics, and strategic insights from experimentation and cutting-edge DS methods. The team works on ads and platform measurement, campaign and creative management, advertiser growth and retention, monetization, and brand-community engagement.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will develop and apply cutting-edge DS models and methods to improve adoption and performance of the advertising platform. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to identify opportunities, define metrics, and build solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and apply DS solutions to improve advertiser experience and Reddit's ad platform.
- Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends and insights for advertising effectiveness.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate product requirements into data science solutions.
- Develop ML models and DS methods for anomaly detection, prediction, and pattern recognition.
- Communicate findings to stakeholders and mentor junior data scientists.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research).
- For M.S. holders: 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science; for Ph.D. holders: 4+ years.
- Platform experience and deep understanding of the ads ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, causal inference, and experimental design.
- Experience with large-scale data processing using Spark, Hadoop, or Hive; knowledge of BigQuery a plus.
- Proficiency in Python or R and experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Pay Transparency
Base salary range: $190,800—$267,100 USD. Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units, and possibly commission. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, generous time off, and parental leave.
