Role
As a Senior Engineer in Compute Services, you will build fault-tolerant and reliable infrastructure supporting internal processes and the customer platform. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining automated tooling to provision Kubernetes control planes on bare metal; using Python, Golang, and Bash to create tooling and Go operators; performing day 2 lifecycle tasks and maintenance on running clusters; identifying gaps and implementing fault-tolerant architectures; optimizing reliability using the Grafana ecosystem; designing automated testing to validate build quality and stability; and participating in an on-call rotation every two months.
Qualifications
Proven experience provisioning Kubernetes with tools such as kubeadm, Cluster API, Kubeception, or Kubespray; demonstrated ability debugging complex Kubernetes cluster issues and carrying out upgrades; proficiency in Golang, Bash, and Python; advanced Linux OS troubleshooting; extensive experience with Ansible; advanced DevOps experience (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions); demonstrated ability to collaborate on shared codebases; excellent documentation skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; and experience participating in an on-call rotation. Preferred: bare-metal OS provisioning, Kubernetes operator coding, advanced Linux networking, and AWX/Ansible Tower knowledge.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range is $153,000 to $204,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
