Senior Platform Security Engineer

As a Platform Security Engineer at Datadog, you will partner with stakeholders across the organization to secure the infrastructure and application components of the Datadog platform. You will build solutions that solve systemic risks, making the secure path easier and the insecure path harder.

• Solve challenging cloud infrastructure and application security problems, starting with core building blocks and golden paths.
• Enable engineers to build and ship secure solutions quickly.
• Build and extend Datadog's Platform Security solutions.
• Leverage and influence Datadog's products to secure infrastructure, providing internal feedback to improve products for customers.

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Passionate about implementing solutions to systemic security issues at scale in a large multi-cloud self-managed Kubernetes environment.
• Proven experience securing enterprise SaaS applications, including authentication flows, authorization patterns, and input validation at API boundaries.
• Demonstrated experience securing deployment and management mechanisms for software and infrastructure changes.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, PASTA/STRIDE, CIS.
• Prior experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Cloud Security, or Application Security.
• Software engineering background with hands-on code review experience in Go, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with Kubernetes PKI and network technologies (Consul, Envoy, Cilium, Vault, Istio, etc.).
• Experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is $187,000—$240,000 USD.
