Senior Software Engineer

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Client and Identity Engineering team, which is accountable for establishing user identity and endpoint security infrastructure in Airbnb's corporate environment. The team builds and maintains systems with high reliability and security requirements, supporting the entire Airbnb Zero Trust ecosystem. This role involves working with open source products to build the next generation client platform for all Airbnb corporate endpoints, building on the zero trust back end suite, supporting security services, network paths, and user and device signaling, and supporting executive level staff with endpoint and identity solutions.

• Bachelor's and/or Master/PhD's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in test driven software development
• Extensive experience with Go, Python, or Java (Go strongly preferred)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code deployments
• Experience developing and deploying services in a Kubernetes environment
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with Apple MDM spec and its implementation in modern MDM deployments
• Understanding of authentication and authorization principles and technologies, such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID, SAML, ABAC, and related Zero Trust security protocols

The base pay range for this role is $196,000—$227,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

This position is based in California - ideally San Francisco. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
