About the job

About Grafana Labs

Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform trusted by more than 10,000 organizations. Built on open source and open standards, Grafana Cloud brings AI to observability and observability to AI, giving teams unified visibility across their data. Customers include Anthropic, Bloomberg, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Salesforce. We are a 100% remote company with team members across 40+ countries.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Product Designer at Grafana Labs, you will join a growing Product Design organization of more than 25 designers, researchers, engineers, and design leaders distributed across six continents. You will work within a 100% remote R&D organization, so strong, proactive remote communication, collaboration, facilitation, and relationship building skills are essential.

As Senior Product Designer for Grafana Cloud’s Knowledge Graph, you'll design experiences for the context layer of Grafana Cloud that powers our entity graph, entity catalog, and RCA workbench. Knowledge Graph automatically discovers services, infrastructure, and databases from telemetry, maps dependencies, and runs anomaly detection, giving engineers, SREs, and their agents an up-to-date picture of their systems.

  • Prioritizing for delivering impact while balancing business priorities, customer wishes, and technical considerations.
  • Documenting user needs and pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed designs for specific features.
  • Executing research and contributing to quantitative and qualitative research initiatives.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 7+ years of relevant design experience working on B2B/enterprise software products, ideally designing tools and services for developers or other highly technical users.
  • A portfolio of effective designs for complex products delivered in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience running qualitative research in complex fields, building empathy with users.
  • Ability to make design decisions that balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time-zones.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn about a complex, very technical product space.
  • Experience working in a fully-remote, fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces with a focus on clarity.
  • Ability to rapidly gain an understanding of a technical domain.
  • Domain knowledge or experience related to observability, cloud infrastructure, and/or database monitoring.
  • Experience helping design teams level up their practice.
