About Instacart
Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by providing grocery delivery and household goods, while offering flexible earnings opportunities to personal shoppers. The company is a Flex First team, allowing employees to choose where they work—from home, an office, or elsewhere—while staying connected through in-person events.
About the Role
Instacart Ads powers one of the industry's leading retail media networks, helping brands, CPGs, and retailer partners reach shoppers with relevant advertising. As part of the Ad Product team, you will own the Formats domain, focusing on 0→1 bets that drive double-digit growth for Ads. You will sit at the intersection of CPGs, retailers, and customers, shaping new ad experiences across multiple user-facing surfaces. Your portfolio spans new advertiser, formats innovation, and in-store experiences. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the Online Grocery team, and external technology partners.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary product partner to sales teams focused on New Advertiser types, including payment providers, upper-funnel non-endemic advertisers, and ad tech providers, with the goal of scaling non-endemic into a significant revenue line.
- Partner with sales teams focused on formats such as savings, in-store, and AI solutions.
- Define the 0→1 strategy for each bet, then own execution while aligning cross-functional teams across Instacart.
- As bets mature, take on increasing strategic ownership: define and prioritize the next set of incremental bets across the Instacart Ads ecosystem.
- Communicate tradeoffs, progress, and results clearly to senior stakeholders, including the GM of Ads.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Experience in product management for ad formats, with a strong understanding of user-facing ad experiences.
- Track record of launching user-facing products and managing trade-offs between users and advertisers.
- Experience managing partners and vendors, including external technology providers.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across sales, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Experience with performance advertising products.
- Experience taking new products from 0→1 in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Background in ad tech, retail media, or a closely related domain.
