Senior Sales Engineer

As a Senior Sales Engineer at Instacart, you'll drive adoption of our ecommerce products and services to the largest retailers in North America and globally. You'll lead consultative, technical-focused discussions with external and internal stakeholders, supporting new implementations and integrations. You'll guide customers through the sales cycle, providing technical and product knowledge, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You'll join the Sales Engineering team, working at the intersection of Business Development, Product, Engineering, and Enterprise Solutions. The team collaborates to bring Instacart's ecosystem to life for partners, aligning technical capabilities with strategic goals, informing product roadmaps, and ensuring seamless handoffs into implementation.

• Work with Business Development to develop strategies for greater adoption of Instacart products.
• Lead technical discussions with audiences from executives to engineers, tailoring content.
• Gain deep understanding of the Instacart ecosystem to provide consultative services.
• Build technical knowledge by interfacing with product and engineering teams.
• Work with Enterprise Solutions teams for smooth handoff of implementation scope.
• Define internal processes and requirements for early scoping.
• Identify new opportunities and provide feedback to Product teams.
• Create and maintain technical sales material to scale the sales process.
• Manage multiple work streams across multiple customers.

• 6+ years in Sales Engineering/Solution Engineering or similar role.
• Strong experience selling technical products and solutioning/scoping integrations.
• Ability to develop and own technical presentations and communications.
• Excellent communication skills balancing complex technical concepts with business values.
• Some travel required.

• Proven experience developing technical presentations for stakeholders from executives to implementation engineers.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across Business Development, Engineering, Product, and Implementation.
• Analyze, design, and implement RESTful services and APIs within complex enterprise architectures.

Base pay ranges by location: CA, NY, CT, NJ: $193,000—$203,500; WA: $185,000—$195,000; OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $176,000—$186,000; All other states: $160,000—$169,000.
