Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineering at Affirm is a small, yet crucial, team that helps our Engineering partners to “Operate What They Own” with excellence to protect their customers’ experience.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity, and ensuring support throughout delivery. You will collaborate with infrastructure, product management, developer experience, and analytics to articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs. You will proactively identify technical solutions and operational processes that strengthen incident readiness, response, and post-incident analysis. You will support operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts. You will foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, and help develop talent by providing feedback and guidance.

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using scripting and development languages like Bash, Python, or Kotlin.
• Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Meaningful experience contributing to or driving parts of the Incident Lifecycle process.
• 4+ years working in a Site Reliability or Production Engineering team.
• Experience defining a technical plan for delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

Base pay range per year: €86,000 - €122,000. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents. Location: Remote Spain. Visa sponsorship is available, but the role requires being based in Spain.
