Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Fabric

Platform Engineering sits within SRE and builds the core infrastructure powering MongoDB’s broader engineering organization. The Fabric team manages the global network substrate that enables secure communication between internal microservices and incoming public internet traffic, owning network architecture, service mesh topologies, and edge load balancing.

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong networking background to join the Fabric team, building and maintaining robust infrastructure for secure and efficient service communication.

• Contribute to a significant re-architecture of our multi-cloud globally-connected network, owning meaningful parts of the work.
• Collaborate with service-owning teams to provide internal support and guidance on service-to-service connectivity.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve network architecture and connectivity issues.

• US Citizen (supports FedRAMP authorized environment).
• 5+ years of experience with software and distributed systems, with deep expertise in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP including IPv6, DNS, TLS/mTLS, BGP, tunnels, overlays, SDN).
• Familiarity with cloud network design primitives in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPCs, subnetting, routing, VPNs, peering, private link/service connect, CDNs).
• Strong knowledge of service mesh and load-balancing concepts.
• Customer-focused mindset and strong preference for automation.

Base salary range for U.S.-based candidates: $127,000—$249,000 USD.
