Senior Software Engineer

The MongoDB Cloud Services Team is responsible for MongoDB Atlas, a database as a service. The Backup Team delivers essential infrastructure to help customers restore distributed databases quickly. The team works on the Backup Agent (Go), server-side infrastructure (Java), and the user interface (JavaScript).

• Work closely with product teams, considering the user’s perspective
• Collaborate with team members on best practices and core concepts
• Hold yourself accountable, balancing goals with research and development
• Own core values and stay up to date with web engineering best practices

• Skilled at writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in a compiled language (Java, C#, Go, etc.)
• Fond of chasing down tough problems in a distributed systems environment
• Experienced with Linux and able to correlate application performance with hardware limits
• Comfortable working across the stack of a modern web application

• Open, honest, and collaborative
• Develop confidence in navigating the platform
• Take responsibility for planning and execution of major features
• Willing to learn and contribute to all parts of the stack

Base salary range: $126,000—$248,000 USD (U.S.-based candidates).
