Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Integrations Team and help build how Elastic shows up inside the AI ecosystem. The Integrations team owns developer-facing surfaces that connect Elastic to the broader ecosystem: language clients, CLI, MCP server, third-party integrations, and skills. You'll build and maintain these projects, engage with the developer community, and contribute across team and cross-functional initiatives.

• Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its infrastructure, primarily in Go.
• Build the platform for universal agent skills: portable format, authoring/publishing tooling, and linting.
• Set the correctness bar by ensuring skills and tools are backed by evals.
• Design and deliver integrations for third-party AI ecosystems, working with product teams and partners.
• Contribute to the Elastic CLI to enhance developer and agent efficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations for the Elastic Stack, using Go and Rust.
• Bring product thinking, holding and defending opinions on what to build.

• 8+ years of software engineering experience on backend systems, services, or libraries.
• Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and working understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and protocols such as MCP.
• Interest in proving correctness through evaluation.
• Significant recent working experience with Go and ideally other languages.
• Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
• Comfort reading and contributing to codebases in unfamiliar languages.
• Knowledge of industry best practices in software engineering.
• Product thinking and strong opinions on what is worth building.
• Strong focus on usability and developer experience.
• Comfort with context-switching and a fast-changing space.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in a remote, globally distributed team.

• Experience building or operating infrastructure, interest in telemetry and observability.
• Connection to technical communities through open source, blogs, or talks.
• Experience with third-party or partner engineering teams.
• Prior experience with Elastic products.

Base salary range: €67,000—€106,000 EUR. No variable compensation component. Benefits include health coverage for you and family in many locations, and minimum 16 weeks parental leave.
