Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Card Acquisition)

Affirm is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Acquisition & Onboarding team within the Consumer org. This is a high-impact leadership role for an engineer who can set technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and elevate the quality and velocity of full stack development across mobile, web, and backend systems. The team plays a critical role in shaping the first experience customers have with Affirm—building trust, clarity, and value from the very first interaction.

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs.
• Take ownership of your team’s operations and availability by ensuring monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting are in place to support on-call efforts.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, and advocating for them through writing and tech talks.
• Help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

• Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), including defining architecture, coordinating cross-functional launches, and maintaining high reliability in production environments.
• Working across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues, and improving developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile apps.
• Implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications.
• Shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Defining technical plans for significant features with elegant, simple, and extensible design, and writing high-quality code.
• Proficient at making significant changes in a large codebase with tools and practices for safe delivery.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

CAN base pay range per year: $153,000 - $213,000. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental, and vision for you and your dependents. Employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
