Senior Staff Software Engineer

Webflow is the agentic web marketing platform for modern marketing teams, helping organizations build, manage, and optimize high-performing web experiences. We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical future of Convert, our suite of products for experimentation, personalization, and conversion optimization.

• Set long-term technical vision and architecture for backend systems powering experimentation, personalization, analytics, and conversion optimization.
• Architect and evolve high-throughput distributed systems and APIs that ingest, process, and serve large volumes of visitor and event data.
• Lead foundational platform investments and data infrastructure.
• Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and product engineers to productionize statistical and AI/ML capabilities.
• Lead complex, multi-team, multi-quarter technical initiatives end-to-end.
• Influence engineering roadmap and technical strategy across the Convert pillar.
• Raise engineering bar through architecture review, technical standards, observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers.
• Stay current with industry trends in distributed systems, experimentation platforms, real-time data, and AI/ML infrastructure.

• BS/BA degree or relevant experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including extensive expertise architecting and operating backend systems and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong technical foundation across multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience designing, building, and operating high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems in production.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across ambiguous, cross-pillar initiatives.
• Ability to partner effectively with product, design, data science, and ML stakeholders.
• Strong judgment and clear communication with technical and executive audiences.
• Proactive embrace of AI and emerging technologies.

Base pay ranges (USD for US, CAD for Canada):

• US Zone A: $232,000 - $290,000
• US Zone B: $217,600 - $272,000
• US Zone C: $204,800 - $256,000
• Canada (ON & BC): $253,000 - $316,000 CAD
