About the job

Lyft is a transportation company that connects riders with drivers. Lyft Infrastructure builds the systems to ship stable, scalable, and efficient services. We are hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead our AI transformation in developer productivity, rethinking how engineers at Lyft work with AI, from tooling and agentic workflows to the platforms that make them possible.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Lyft's AI transformation in developer productivity, shaping strategy for AI-enhanced engineering workflows, including adoption of tools like Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code, and building AI-native workflows and agentic tooling.
  • Own the roadmap, sequence work, make prioritization calls, and define success for AI-driven engineering productivity.
  • Partner with engineering teams to build AI-native workflows that solve real developer pain.
  • Run programs end to end, coordinating across infrastructure, developer platforms, and engineering leadership.
  • Be the voice of the customer, surfacing pain points and feeding them into priorities and roadmaps.
  • Define success metrics and adoption goals, gather and document customer requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and infrastructure leads to build plans, call out risks early, and keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Own program health, track milestones, surface blockers, and keep decision-makers in the loop.
  • Use technical background to ask sharp questions and build plans the team believes in.
  • Share in the team's release oncall rotation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Technical Program Management or a TPM/PM hybrid role.
  • Background in software, data, or systems engineering.
  • Experience owning a roadmap, setting strategy, prioritizing across competing demands.
  • Experience with developer productivity, developer tooling, or engineering platforms.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code).
  • Bonus: experience building or shipping AI-native or agentic workflows.
  • Strong track record leading cross-functional programs with real dependencies and tight timelines.
  • Experience owning customer relationships across engineering teams, gathering requirements, and translating needs into roadmaps and technical specs.
  • Ability to glean insights from usage and productivity data.
  • Comfortable defining and tracking success metrics and adoption.
  • Clear communicator across the stack, from engineer to VP.

Compensation: The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $148,000 - $185,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
