Senior TechOps Engineer

Plaid's TechOps team owns the systems, tools, and infrastructure that every employee depends on, treating corporate infrastructure like an engineering problem: configuration lives in code, endpoint provisioning is automated, and access assignment is self-service. The team works closely with Security, Engineering, and People teams to keep the internal environment secure and scalable.

This is not just a break/fix IT position; it's a chance to build, improve, and own systems that a thousand-person company depends on. The role includes on-call rotation for a few hours a week and involves owning various domains, extending team capability on a longer-term roadmap, and working on larger, more complex projects.

• Leading others, unblocking, and providing guidance and mentorship.
• Helping build the team roadmap and advocating for future work.
• Owning and improving Okta configuration, lifecycle policies, access reviews, MFA enforcement, and Workflows automation.
• Managing endpoint configuration via Iru/Kandji, preferring policy-as-code and version-controlled configs.
• Building and maintaining automation to reduce repetitive support burden.
• Evaluating, deploying, and supporting AI tooling to improve productivity.
• Handling SaaS procurement/renewals and owning companywide SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Linear, Slack, Okta).
• Supporting Eng, Security, and GTM teams with cross-boundary work.

• 5+ years of experience supporting a large fleet of macOS devices.
• Mobile device management for Apple devices (Iru, Intune, Workspace One, etc.).
• Configuration as code (e.g., terraform).
• Advanced usage of bash/python or other languages.
• Leveraging Claude Code, Codex, or other tools to improve solution quality and efficiency.
• Experience managing and leading with critical central business systems: Google Workspace, Slack, Linear/Jira, or other ticketing platforms.

Salary range: $140,400 – $175,000 USD. Additional compensation in the form of equity and/or commission may be offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Hybrid: 3 days a week in the New York City office.
