About the job
About Affirm
Affirm is a financial technology company that provides clear, predictable pay-over-time solutions with no hidden fees. The Revenue team drives Affirm's top-line growth through strategic partnerships, pricing, and go-to-market execution, acquiring and expanding merchant relationships across eCommerce, in-store, telesales, and the Affirm app.
About the role
As a Small Business Account Executive I, you will fuel Affirm's UK growth by acquiring and onboarding small and mid-sized merchants. You will own a high-volume pipeline end to end, introducing merchants to Affirm's buy now, pay later products and helping them grow through flexible, honest financing.
What you'll do
- Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, pitch, negotiate, and close new SMB merchant partnerships across the UK market.
- Build and manage a healthy, high-volume pipeline, consistently meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly quota.
- Run consultative conversations with founders, owners, and decision-makers, tailoring Affirm's value proposition to each merchant's goals.
- Drive merchant activation and early adoption, partnering with onboarding and account management teams to ensure a smooth launch.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity data in the CRM.
- Act as a voice of the UK SMB market internally, sharing feedback with Product, Marketing, and Partnerships to improve our offering.
What we look for
- 3+ years of consultative, quota-carrying sales experience, ideally in fintech, SaaS, payments, or retail technology.
- 2+ years of experience selling into the UK market, with a strong understanding of the SMB merchant landscape.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable managing a high volume of deals and navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
- A collaborative, resilient, and growth-minded approach; understanding of eCommerce, in-store technology, and payments ecosystems is a plus.
Compensation & benefits
GBR On Target Earnings per year including base and variable components: £92,000 - £112,000. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidised medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). Employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
Benefits include health coverage at no cost (100% of premiums for employees and dependents), spending stipends, flexible time off and generous holiday calendars, and an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) that lets you buy Affirm stock at a discount.
Location
Remote UK. Affirm is a remote-first company; most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment. Some positions may occasionally require in-person work at an Affirm office, and a few are office-based due to the nature of the work. All new hires will be invited to attend an in-person onboarding experience.
