This role joins the Stytch team at Twilio to build and scale Stytch's core identity product as Stytch capabilities are brought to Twilio's full customer base, delivering secure, developer-first identity experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build backend product capabilities for Stytch's identity platform on Twilio, shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows, including agentic and non-human identity use cases.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set direction, translate customer needs into product capabilities, and deliver high-impact roadmap features.
- Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align on architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-team initiatives.
- Operate with deep technical ownership: author design docs, drive key technical decisions, review code, and stay close to the systems you ship.
- Build in ambiguity, break down complex problems, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and design developer experiences that delight customers.
- Improve production quality and resilience through strong observability, incident response and remediation.
- Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience designing, building and operating high-scale, mission critical cloud based production systems.
- Familiarity with a production-grade code base in a modern programming language, applying best practice coding standards.
- Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.
- Desired: familiarity with Go, TypeScript, and DynamoDB; experience building developer tools or SDKs; experience building and owning products consumed by paying customers.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated pay ranges: $116,960 - 146,200 (Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington D.C.); $123,760 - 154,700 (New York, New Jersey, Washington State, California outside SF Bay); $137,520 - 171,900 (San Francisco Bay area). This role may be eligible for Twilio's equity plan and corporate bonus plan. Benefits include health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
Location
This role is US remote. Occasional travel may be required for project or team in-person meetings.
