Software Engineer - Data Movement Platform

Reddit is a community of communities, home to 100,000+ active communities and approximately 130 million daily active unique visitors. The Data Platform team supports batch and streaming ML and BI workloads, with over 100B events ingested daily.

The Data Movement team is hiring a Software Engineer to solve large scale data platform and efficiency challenges. You will own the Data Movement Platform for batch and stream data processing, build infrastructure for Spark, Flink, and Airflow, and create automated, self-serve solutions for data users.

• Refine and maintain data infrastructure for ML and analytics workflows.
• Own the Data Movement Platform for batch and stream processing.
• Invest in new infrastructure for Spark, Flink, and Airflow, including open source contributions.
• Build automated solutions to minimize toil and provide a declarative, self-service experience.
• Collaborate on on-call responsibilities and monitoring/alerting to improve reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.

• 2+ years of software engineering experience in production.
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages like Python, Scala, Go, or Java.
• Experience with cloud services, Airflow, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Spark, Flink, or modern cloud-based infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Base salary range: $164,200—$229,900 USD. Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
