About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Analyst for AML Governance & Advisory within Financial Crimes & Identity. This team owns the governance framework supporting Chime's BSA/AML and OFAC compliance programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, partner bank obligations, internal risk appetite, and evolving financial crime risks. The role requires balancing regulatory rigor with operational agility, driving initiatives, and identifying automation opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance governance frameworks for BSA/AML and OFAC programs.
- Drive governance routines, executive/committee reporting, and escalation processes.
- Track, analyze, and report on program risks, issues, remediation plans, and control effectiveness.
- Partner with Financial Crimes and Risk teams to support enterprise-wide AML and sanctions risk assessments.
- Draft, update, and maintain BSA/AML and OFAC policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor regulatory developments and drive policy/control updates.
- Prepare materials for regulatory exams, bank partner reviews, and audits; coordinate responses and remediation.
- Support issues management end-to-end, from intake to sustainability evidence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to influence outcomes and implement scalable governance improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in BSA/AML and OFAC compliance, with significant time in governance, advisory, or second-line capacity at a fintech, bank, or regulated financial institution.
- Deep knowledge of FinCEN, OCC, and FFIEC requirements; applied experience in consumer banking, payments, or lending.
- Exceptional written communication; ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear policies and executive narratives.
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, and bank partner reviews.
- Hands-on issues management: authoring corrective action plans, defining validation criteria, tracking remediation.
- Experience with enterprise-wide BSA/AML and sanctions risk assessments.
- Working knowledge of the three lines of defense model.
- Experience building executive/Board-level reporting and running governance routines.
- Demonstrated record of driving automation or process improvement in compliance/risk.
- Strong program management skills; ability to run multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Proven ability to influence across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, and Engineering.
Bonus Points
- Experience in sponsor-bank/BaaS operating model.
- Proficiency with SQL or BI platforms (Looker, Tableau), GRC platforms (Archer, LogicGate, AuditBoard, Workiva), and AI tooling.
- Familiarity with financial crimes technology (transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, case management).
- Experience with regulatory change management and enterprise risk frameworks.
- CAMS, CFCS, or comparable certification.
- Experience in high-growth fintech or startup.
Compensation
Base salary range: $112,000 - $155,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.
