Sr. Engineering Manager - Pendo for Agents

The Pendo for Agents team builds Pendo's AI and agent product area, a greenfield surface where architecture is being defined. As Senior Manager, Engineering, you will own technical direction end to end, be accountable for delivery, quality, and talent pipeline, and partner with Product, Design, Staff/Principal engineers.

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of ~4 engineers, growing into two teams.
• Own architecture decisions, including build-versus-buy.
• Guide prioritization, planning, and execution across sprint/quarterly cycles.
• Partner with Product and Design using Agile practices.
• Stay hands-on in architecture while coaching and unblocking the team.
• Use AI tools to accelerate engineering operations.
• Own headcount planning and partner with recruiting.
• Foster a healthy team culture.

• 5+ years engineering experience, 2+ in people management.
• Hands-on architecture with LLM/agent systems (RAG, tool-calling, orchestration).
• Experience in greenfield/early-stage product areas.
• Strong build-versus-buy judgment in AI tooling.
• Strong technical foundation in front-end/back-end (React, Angular, Vue, Go, Python, Java, Ruby, C#).
• Cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Experience hiring for technical roles.

Expected salary range for New York City: $240,000 - $260,000.
