Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, enabling organizations that depend on physical operations to harness IoT data. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Governance Platform team, which builds foundational platforms for governance, identity security, compliance, and software supply-chain protections across Samsara's cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core components of the Cloud Governance Platform, including cloud IAM, security controls, compliance enforcement, and software supply-chain security.
- Contribute to the roadmap for governance and security tooling across AWS and GCP.
- Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into automated, continuously enforced controls.
- Build and maintain software supply-chain security tooling, including SAST, DAST, and secure CI/CD pipeline patterns.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams.
- Share technical knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry experience in software development.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming and design fundamentals (Golang, Python or similar).
- Deep hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations.
- Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems.
- Ideal: experience with internal developer platforms, developer tools, supply-chain security, and proficiency in Golang, Python, Terraform.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual base salary range: $142,800—$184,800 CAD. Eligible for initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities. Total rewards include performance-based bonus/variable pay, equity, professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans.
