Reddit is a community of communities, home to 100,000+ active communities and ~130 million daily active users. The Brand Ad Formats team drives development of ad formats for advertisers, focusing on high-visibility, awareness-driven solutions. They are building customizable interactive formats and AI-driven ads with UGC, and doubling down on Video Ads.
As a Staff Android Engineer, you will lead the technical strategy to turn Reddit's Video Ads into a premier offering for brand advertisers, and provide technical guidance on new reddit-unique ad formats on Android.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Design to build a roadmap for Video Ads.
- Drive technical design and execution of projects.
- Establish Android best practices and provide design reviews.
- Lead full development lifecycle from discovery to deployment.
- Mentor senior engineers and establish best practices.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience (Staff level).
- 3+ years deep expertise in Kotlin and modern Android architectural patterns.
- Completed 4+ Android development projects from ideation to production.
- Prior experience in Ad Tech, building highly interactive/rich-media mobile experiences.
- Product mindset with focus on UI polish and performance.
- System design in complex, data-intensive environments.
- Experience leveraging GenAI tools.
- Fluency with product metrics, experiments, and tools like BigQuery, HEX, Firebase.
- Openness to work across the stack and explore AI/ML integration.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Compensation
Base salary range: $217,000—$303,900 USD, plus equity.
