Staff Backend Engineer, Alerting. This is a remote opportunity based in the UK. The Grafana Alerting squad operates at the core of the Grafana open-source project, building distributed systems to scale alert ingestion, evaluation, and delivery. The team works closely with customers and Grafana Cloud teams to make Alerting work on-prem and at infinite scale in Cloud.

• Take an active role in influencing roadmap and career objectives.
• Work with the team to deliver new features and iterate based on results.
• Drive projects from ideation to operations.
• Embrace open-source culture and contribute to other projects.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning reliability, performance, and availability.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor and support team members, participate in design discussions.
• Learn new skills by understanding the cloud product and large distributed system codebase.

• Customer-focused with a passion for intuitive products.
• Pragmatic, able to break down complex challenges into modular solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fully remote setup.
• Solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used, but Python, Java, C++, Rust or similar translate well.
• Experience delivering projects from requirements to shipping.
• Experience with cloud software development or systems engineering.
• Ability to write clean, robust, and performant software.

UK compensation range: GBP 103,958 - GBP 124,750. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The company offers 100% remote global culture, 30 days annual leave, and other benefits.
