About the job

About the role

The Security Field Engineering team helps data teams understand the security of the Databricks platform and assists account teams with questions that arise during security reviews. Reporting to the Head of Security Field Engineering, you will meet with customers to answer questions, train other Databricks team members, and build customer-facing content such as slide decks and white papers, and may write code customers can use. The team prioritizes scale—building docs, agent skills, and knowledge base articles over one-off meetings.

Impact

Act as a security expert working with field teams and customers to understand architectures, address concerns, and handle compliance questions. Contributions may include customer interactions, scalable slide or white paper creation, internal enablement, process improvement, automation, or technical leadership. Identify customer pain points and work with product management and product marketing to improve the product and messaging, and contribute to internal-facing services and automation that make life easier for field staff and customers.

What we look for

  • 6+ years of technical pre-sales or post-sales experience explaining hard concepts
  • Understanding of complex security principles and architectures, and ability to communicate them simply
  • Real-world experience in multiple security domains such as IaaS+PaaS+SaaS, network and endpoint security, web applications, vulnerability management, identity management, and SIEM
  • Some scripting or programming experience, and excitement to use AI to scale impact across many thousands of customers and employees
  • Understanding of the Databricks platform is a strong plus

Compensation

Pay ranges by zone: Zone 1 $194,800—$267,850; Zone 2 $175,400—$241,100; Zone 3 $165,600—$227,700; Zone 4 $155,800—$214,300 USD. Total compensation may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
