Staff Software Engineer

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas, define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, and design and ship full-stack features end to end. This role is remote and open to candidates residing in Canada.

• Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and run with them.
• Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, from backend services and APIs to customer-facing UI.
• Design and ship full-stack features across backend, frontend, and potentially mobile to deliver AI-powered products.
• Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical plans.
• Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion, APIs, and workflows.
• Raise the bar through code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentorship.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals across backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile).
• Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, or similar).
• Experience leading cross-team or cross-org projects from inception through rollout.
• Experience building AI-powered or data-driven products.

• Experience shipping AI-powered features in production, including LLM-based products, agentic workflows, or recommendation systems.
• Comfort with modern AI-augmented development workflows (Cursor, LLMs, etc.).
• Background with real-world operational data or strong interest in learning the domain.
• Proven track record of mentoring senior engineers and influencing engineering culture.

Annual base salary: $154,800—$212,850 CAD. Eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance.
