Staff+ Software Engineer, Developer Experience

The Developer Experience (DevX) team owns the surfaces developers interact with on the Claude Platform: the Console, docs platform, SDKs, and CLI. The role spans two workstreams: DevX Core (driving technical direction for the Console and docs platform) and SDKs (owning SDKs across seven languages plus the CLI, including code generation, testing, and release pipelines).

• Drive technical direction for the Console and docs platform, working with product and design from problem definition through launch.
• Set platform patterns and standards for internal teams shipping features onto the Console.
• Own SDKs across seven languages plus the CLI, ensuring new platform capabilities land as idiomatic features.
• Drive code generation, testing, and release pipeline for consistent multi-language shipping.

• Minimum 8 years of practical full-stack engineering experience, ideally with 2+ years at Staff or equivalent technical leadership level.
• Led design and delivery of complex, developer-facing products across the full stack.
• Technical expert in modern frontend and backend development, with depth in React and TypeScript.
• Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable, easy-to-use solutions.
• Experience in early-stage or fast-moving environments, ideally building products from 0 to 1.
• Strong mentorship and cross-team alignment skills.

Annual salary: $405,000—$485,000 USD.
