About the job
About the role
Anthropic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the technical foundation for AI-native education at scale. You will own the technical vision for the AI-driven educational experience, including the platform layer, enterprise readiness features, data architecture, AI-augmented pipelines, integrations, and delivery systems. You will work with a small team of educators to deliver educational experiences with the reach of a much larger organization.
Responsibilities
- Architect and own the enterprise-ready education platform, including authentication/SSO, learner data models, content delivery, credentialing, and progress tracking.
- Build AI-augmented pipelines for content generation, real-time adaptation, assessment delivery, and quality assurance.
- Design platform capabilities for adaptive paths, competency-based progression, and AI-evaluated demonstrations of skill.
- Interface with security, infrastructure, and data teams to meet organizational standards.
- Build platform abstractions that let non-engineers configure and experiment with educational experiences.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to take a platform from zero to production at scale.
- Full-stack engineering skills with particular strength in backend systems: databases, APIs, authentication, reliability, and infrastructure.
- Experience building and operating platforms that serve many concurrent users reliably.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership, translating pedagogical intent into technical architecture.
- Working practice of using AI tools in engineering workflows.
Strong candidates may also have
- Experience with learning platforms, credentialing systems, or educational technology products.
- Background in learning science, instructional design, or educational research.
- Experience with SSO/identity (SAML, OAuth), badging standards (Open Badges), or LTI integrations.
- Familiarity with building systems that incorporate LLM capabilities as core infrastructure.
