Staff+ Software Engineer, Platform Distribution

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation focused on creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Distribution team owns transforming the Claude API into a cloud-native, managed product that runs wherever customers need it, cross-cloud and on Anthropic's own infrastructure, with enterprise-grade security, compliance, and operational capabilities.

This role spans two workstreams:

• Claude Platform on the Clouds: Make the Claude Platform a best-in-class offering on AWS, GCP, and Azure by bringing the API, control plane, and Anthropic features through the provider's front door, collaborating with Infrastructure, Systems, Networking, Databases, and Inference teams.
• Enterprise Readiness: Ship next-gen enterprise enablement features such as key management & encryption, audit APIs, usage visibility, access control, and international data residency, partnering with core teams and CSPs.

You might be a good fit if you have a minimum of 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems, ideally at tech lead level; take a product-focused approach; own large-scale infrastructure systems; have experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure) at scale and/or Enterprise SaaS in a multi-tenant context; and are proficient in Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems language.
