About the Role
As a Technical Program Manager for Security, you will drive execution of high-stakes programs spanning security engineering, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for strategy, planning, and execution of technical security programs that enable Anthropic to meet its Responsible Scaling Policy (RSP) commitments while building a security posture that scales with rapid growth. This role sits at the intersection of Security Engineering, Security Compliance, Infrastructure, Product, Research, Policy, and more.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end security program execution for RSP security readiness, coordinating across Security Engineering, Infrastructure, Research, and Compliance teams.
- Coordinate complex multi-team deployments, such as endpoint hardening and egress reduction, requiring careful change management.
- Make real-time technical trade-off decisions balancing security controls, research velocity, and operational feasibility.
- Build program structure for emerging security domains, including charters, roles, timelines, communication strategies, and success metrics.
- Partner with third-party partners on security aspects of infrastructure partnerships, including contract requirements and security assurance.
- Lead stakeholder communication and executive reporting, including status updates, company-wide communications, and program reviews.
Qualifications
- Experience driving cross-functional projects and building longer-running programs.
- Experience executing technical programs requiring systems and engineering-level knowledge.
- Deep interest in or willingness to learn about cybersecurity or regulatory compliance.
- Experience leveraging LLMs to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Experience reporting on complex programs through data-driven benchmarks, including writing SQL queries.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence without authority and build cross-organizational support.
- Track record of organizing, implementing, and managing complex programs and projects.
- Comfort working through trade-offs and balancing competing priorities.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $290,000—$365,000 USD
Location and Hybrid Policy
Location: San Francisco, CA | New York City, NY | Seattle, WA. Currently, all staff are expected to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
