About the Role
Gusto is seeking a licensed Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Broker to join a critical pilot launching a P&C broker model. In this role, you will act as a licensed agent to quote and issue business insurance policies with NEXT Insurance, provide direct support to small business customers with complex insurance needs, and help accelerate the development of Gusto's AI Insurance Advisor.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound dials to prospective and existing small business clients to assess complex P&C insurance needs and recommend coverage.
- Quote and issue Property & Casualty policies, primarily with NEXT Insurance, in the offline sales channel.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity expectations.
- Provide human-in-the-loop support to optimize the AI Insurance Advisor, Gus, and assist customers with complex needs.
- Maintain client relationships, manage policy renewals, and facilitate changes or endorsements.
- Act as a liaison between clients and carriers, including assisting with claims.
- Cross-sell and up-sell additional P&C lines to achieve monthly production goals.
- Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation in CRM systems (SFDC).
- Use AI-powered workflows daily, surfacing friction and collaborating to improve tools.
- Stay current on industry trends, products, regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in insurance sales or brokerage with commercial P&C product knowledge (Workers' Compensation, BOP, Commercial Auto, E&O).
- Active Property & Casualty insurance producer's license.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales and negotiation abilities with a proven ability to meet sales targets.
- Working knowledge of carrier quoting systems, insurance software, and CRM systems like Salesforce (SFDC).
- Comfortable using AI tools and automation to enhance productivity.
- Demonstrated passion for customer experience and empathy for small business owners.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, with an entrepreneurial ownership mentality.
- Proven day-to-day experience integrating AI into work across writing, research, prep, and summarization.
Compensation & Benefits
Cash compensation is $109,390 to $134,000 OTE for Denver, Atlanta, Chicago & Las Vegas; $102,855 to $126,000 OTE for Phoenix. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs).
Work Location
This role is available in Atlanta, GA (Remote), Denver, CO (Hybrid), and Phoenix, AZ (Remote). Employees based in Denver, San Francisco, or New York City are expected to work from the office approximately 2-3 days per week.
