About the job

The company operates as a Flex First team, allowing employees to choose where they work—from home, an office, or elsewhere—while staying connected through in-person events.

The Chief of Staff, Online Grocery will partner with the General Manager who leads the Online Grocery business and its product and R&D organization of ~200 people across product, design, research, and technical program management. This is a highly strategic and operational individual-contributor role (no direct reports) focused on improving how the organization operates, making it more cohesive, clear, and faster in decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Run the operating rhythm: own and improve business rhythm for the GM and organization, including leadership team syncs, all-team meetings, monthly/quarterly business reviews, planning reviews, and organizational communications.
  • Manage the GM's operating cadence, prioritizing and delegating workstreams.
  • Improve decision-making: clarify decision rights, build frameworks and pre-reads, and remove friction.
  • Shape and run leadership team offsites: objectives, agenda, pre-reads, and follow-through.
  • Be a trusted thought partner to the GM and product/R&D leaders.
  • Prepare briefings and coordinate research for GM's meetings.
  • Partner with GM, HR, and finance to manage headcount budget.
  • Drive executive communication: calendar, planning, and content for C-suite and board alignment.
  • Strengthen people, culture, and organizational health: spot issues, address dynamics, and turn engagement survey signals into action.
  • Drive priority programs: annual and long-range planning, ambiguous new efforts, and emerging opportunities/risks.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of work experience.
  • R&D experience in a direct R&D role (product, design, engineering, or technical program management) or adjacent role.
  • Consulting, corporate strategy/operations, or finance background with executive-level experience.
  • Working fluency in product, design, and engineering organizations.
  • High EQ, people-oriented, strong written/verbal communication, analytical skills, and exceptional program management.
