Conversion Operations Associate

Gusto is on a mission to grow the small business economy, handling payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR for over 500,000 small businesses. We are looking for a detail-driven problem solver to join our ConversionOps team as a Conversion Operations Associate. In this role, you will independently manage the transfer of retirement plans from prior providers onto our platform, validating asset allocations, reconciling trust data, and establishing participant loan records before go-live.

• Own asset allocations and manage participant-level asset allocations during plan conversions.
• Reconcile trust reports and legacy provider data to validate fund mapping and participant elections.
• Resolve discrepancies in cash movements and asset balances.
• Set up and configure participant loan records.
• Protect data integrity for downstream compliance testing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Client Success, Onboarding, Compliance, and Reconciliations.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and tooling enhancements.

• 3+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, financial operations, or onboarding-focused operational roles.
• Strong understanding of contribution types, loan structures, and participant-level retirement data.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including lookup functions, pivot tables, data validation, and error analysis.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• 401(k) experience supporting plan conversions, asset transitions, loans, or trust reconciliation preferred.

Compensation: The cash compensation range for this role is $68,570/year to $84,000/year in Denver. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors.
