Role Overview
As the Director, Operations Accounting, you will serve as a strategic leader within CoreWeave’s Accounting Operations organization, with end-to-end ownership of the technical, operational, and reporting activities supporting global data center operations. This role reports to the Head of Operations Accounting and requires a balance of strategic vision, technical expertise, and operational execution — starting hands-on as a player-coach and scaling the team from there.
Responsibilities
- Own the function end to end: Provide strategic leadership over technical, operational, and reporting activities supporting global data center operations, including accounting and month-end close for supply chain and inventory valuation, standard cost and absorption, fixed assets and capital project accounting (CIP), GRIR management, freight and logistics, and procure-to-pay (P2P).
- Establish the long-term vision: Define and drive a scalable operational accounting framework, including systems, workflows, and organizational design capable of sustaining hyper-growth.
- Build and operate the control environment: Design and execute a robust, SOX-compliant (or equivalent) control environment across operational and technical accounting processes, driving clean audits and year-over-year reductions in findings.
- Lead technical & judgment-heavy accounting: Evaluate, document, and implement accounting treatment for complex transactions in partnership with Technical Accounting and Controllership.
- Drive systems transformation & integrations: Own the accounting design for supply chain and fixed asset systems and integrations, including ERP implementations, migrations, or upgrades (e.g., NetSuite to Tier-1 platforms like SAP or Oracle), as well as sub-ledger and procurement/WMS integrations.
- Partner across the business: Act as a trusted advisor to Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, FP&A, IT, Tax, Treasury, and Senior Leadership.
- Lead audit readiness & operational excellence: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and Internal Audit to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
- Build and scale a global team: Start as a hands-on player-coach, then hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing global team from a lean starting point.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership roles, with broad ownership of technical, operational, cost, or reporting accounting in a high-value, asset-heavy, capital-intensive, or logistics-intensive environment.
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP and internal controls: Deep technical background in U.S. GAAP as applied to inventory valuation, cost accounting, fixed assets/PP&E, CIP, and procure-to-pay, with proven experience designing and operating SOX-compliant (or equivalent) internal control frameworks.
- Systems & ERP transformation leadership: Hands-on experience leading or owning the accounting design for an ERP implementation, migration, or major upgrade (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or comparable).
- Proven team builder & player-coach: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and scale accounting teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
- Exceptional leadership & stakeholder management: Strong executive presence and communication skills, with a track record of partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, FP&A, and IT.
- Preferred: Capital-intensive industry experience (data centers, cloud infrastructure, telecom, semiconductors, hardware, manufacturing, industrials, CPG, 3PL, or multi-site retail).
- Preferred: Public company or IPO readiness experience.
- Preferred: CPA and/or Big 4 public accounting background (not required).
